Review: western alternative bagel

Do you love bagels, but get full very fast with them? Well, the western alternative bagel is smaller and less calories, but is the perfect size for filling you up without filling you out. They come in 6 different flavors, but my favorite is the blueberry. There perfect as a replacement for bread on a pb and j, a good morning snack(spread with the laughing cow cream cheese), or an everyday treat. You can find these at sprouts.

The pros are it is a good size, they are good and doughy, and they are delish!

The cons are they spoil quickly, and they may be too small for some.

Overall, a 9 out of 10.

OMG! Summers almost gone!

Hello my little bloggies. Wow, summers almost over! It flew by, faster than last years hellish one, me being in my ED and all. I've been writing about my experiences, and it has really helped me face some bent up emotions. Look for a few reviews tomorrow! Have a safe Sunday!

P.S. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Aurora shooting victims and their families.

Brief update

Hi all! I am in a chipper mood, after finding out that my blog has been viewed 157 times total. I thought, like, 2 people read it. So yay! Tomorrow I am starting a therapy group with Pam, and a girl from the hospital will be there. We were pretty tight, so that will be nice to see her. I just had lentil soup and quinoa for dinner, and I feel like a whale. Last night, I flipped through Marya Hornbachers book, Wasted, and was shocked(and triggered) at how much she weighed. But I told my mom, and she took the book and thanked me for being honest. I think that's a HUGE step in recovery. Ciao!

Review: Tribe Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

So, I'm a vegetarian, and I get tired of peanut butter and beans as protein. I recently discovered hummus. The hospitals hummus was god awful*shudder*. I remember an awful meal I had, when I was in the hospital the first time. I had a tortilla, a cup of refried beans, white rice, about 3 cups of French fries(no joke), and a ton of yucky hummus. I had to eat this to get all my exchanges in. I supplemented, or drank some ensure, because I just couldn't eat it all.

Anyway...

I like red peppers, so I decided to pick up a container of this hummus. The look and texture may put you off at first, but once you take a bite of this sweet yet savory dip, your taste buds will thank you! The dip has plenty of red peppers, but you can also get a slight garlicky trademark hummus taste. If you like hummus(or red peppers, or are looking for a healthy dip) this is for you!!

The pros are it tastes good, it is healthy, and comes in a small container.

The cons are it spoils quickly, some may not like the texture or taste, and it can be a little expensive( if your on a budget.)

Overall, an 8 out of 10.

See ya!

Sorry-again

Hey! I've been gone...again. I've just been in that blah summer mood. You know, where you just wanna sleep all day. I went to the dietician the other day, and she said my weight has gone up, even though my moms scale said I lost weight. So confusing. But I'm going to start a therapy group with Pam, and one of the girls from my first treatment is gonna be there. So excited! I will do my best to keep up with posts. Oh, and a special shout-out to Linda and Aunt C! TTYL!

Sorry

Hey guys- sorry for the hiatus. I've been reading, eating, reading, and eating some more. I bought some books yesterday, and I can't air to start them...Ok, so Thursday came....I had my dietician appointment. She made me go up on my meal plan, and I have to gain a couple pounds by July 11. Yay. She told my mom if I got back into the eighties, I would have to go back to the hospital, and I was much more depressed than I had been before. Yeah, I'm depressed. I have to deal with an ED, all of these appointments, always worrying about what im going to eat when we go out, not being able to do activity, and just my life in general. So...that's what's going on with me. How are you guys?

Review: Fiberplus Dark Chocolate Almond

So...I am ashamed to admit this... But I am in love with fiber one bars. They are sooo delicious. So, in order to vary up my diet a little, I decided to get fiber plus bars instead. I had this bar as a snack this afternoon after swimming. When I first bit into it, I wasn't impressed. It tasted like a wanna be fiber one bar. I set it down, unenthused. I picked it up again a few moments later, and was surprised to find it tasted...almost BETTER than a fiber one bar. The almonds were te culprit here, adding a nice crunch and down playing some of the overwhelming chocolate flavor. I easily finished the bar, since it was a thin bar at 1.2 ounces.

The pros of this bar are it is chocolatey, has fiber, and is relatively healthy.

The cons are it has some higher sugars and fats, it has many ingredients(unnatural), and it may not stop your hunger.

Overall, a 7 out of 10.
